I would like to warmly thank our customers and partners for the past year and wish you a cyber-safe year 2019! During the past year, Deltagon was kept busy by things like the EU General Data Protection Regulation and opening a branch office in Norway.
When going through and summarizing the year 2018, we first have to go back in time to December of 2017 and January of 2018, when the entire ownership of Deltagon was acquired by the State Security Networks Finland. As a result of the corporate transaction, the State Security Networks Group Finland consolidated its expertise in information security. Deltagon's clientele includes not only private sector customers but also a large number of public authorities and other operators of national security in the Nordic countries.
In January, the FICORA’s National Cyber Security Centre Finland (NCSC-FI), based on a product evaluation, renewed their approval of Deltagon's e-mail encryption solution for handling security classified material. FICORA's approval concerns levels ST IV and ST III.
In accordance with Deltagon's strategy, international growth was continued and operations in the Nordic countries were extended by establishing a branch office in Norway. Deltagon Norway NUF (Norskregistrert utenlandsk foretak) operates in the field of cyber security, offering Norwegian companies secure solutions for e-communications and e-services. In spring, Deltagon also opened an office in Oslo and appointed a sales manager responsible for customer sales and partner cooperation in Norway.
On May 25, the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) became applicable, which resulted in a clearly visible increase in need for protecting communications in companies. Deltagon's product development and service production responded to the increased need successfully.
On the eve of the summer, the Association for Finnish Work awarded Deltagon Group Oy with the Key Flag Symbol in recognition of a service produced in Finland that creates Finnish jobs. Around the same time in the early summer, our office and operations in Finland moved to new premises at the State Security Networks Finland’s headquarters in Espoo.
We look forward to the year 2019 with great interest and the new challenges it brings to the electronic communication of companies and organizations. But before that I would like to thank again for the past year and for the successful cooperation!
Have a cyber secure year 2019!
