Deltagon accelerates its international expansion with new funding
Companies becoming aware of the insecurity of e-mail
Deltagon Group, developer of e-mail security solutions, has successfully completed a new round of fundraising. The resulting 1 million euros will be used as support for the goals of tripling revenue in 2007 and increasing product development as well as international market share. These ambitious goals are believed possible by not only Deltagon Group, but also Tekes.
Deltagon Group was founded in 1999 as a specialist in confidentiality solutions. The second round of funding was organized by established IT leader Jarmo Kalliola, who was instrumental in successfully bringing software developer Aldata to the international market. Mr. Kalliola now acts as head of the board at Deltagon Group.
Mr. Kalliola's network brought in three private investors, one of whom is Reino Uusitalo, founder and owner of Pyroll concern. Tekes is also participating in the funding with both grants and loans. Technology specialist Tiina Nurmi gives the basis of Tekes' funding as Deltagon's innovative technology solutions, as well as their novelty value and market potential.
Finnish market no longer sufficient
Products of Deltagon Group are used by several large organization of Finland. Pasi Koistinen, founder of Deltagon group, strongly believes in success on the international market. As the first step, an R&D center has been founded in Berlin, led by Mr. Koistinen. He believes Germany to be a crucial location in opening EU markets, given a strong presence of global partners and the largest local market in Europe.
"Most organizations are prepared for outside threats with antivirus technology and firewalls," says Mr. Koistinen. "The next developments will happen in the field of e-mail confidentiality. As companies become more aware of risks due to insecure e-mail messaging, there will be an increasing need of e-mail confidentiality products. No company is without antivirus technology today, and tomorrow no company will be without e-mail confidentiality."
The advantages of Deltagon Group's flagship product are its ease of use, scalability, and cross-platform compatibility. Secure and confidential e-mail messages can be sent without additional software requirements.
The success of Deltagon Group's second funding round will grant the company the possibility of continued investment in product development and spreading to international markets.
